PEAL runs on the dedication and enthusiasm of several volunteer committees, and we’re always looking for new members to join! Interested in planning the next Happy Hour? Have a great idea for a professional development workshop? To learn more about joining a committee, e-mail us.
Steering provides overarching direction and leadership for PEAL, meeting once a month to discuss issues facing the Portland arts sector and design initiatives to serve the needs of PEAL members. Steering meets on the second Tuesday of every month and all meetings are open to PEAL members.
The goal of the Equity Committee is to provide space and resources to advance the conversation about equity, diversity and inclusion in the arts and take action to create tangible change in our communities. A truly grassroots movement, the committee and its members represent a range of organizations, experiences and disciplines within the broader arts and culture landscape. Learn more about the Equity Committee here.
Engagement works across all committees to communicate with existing members through a variety of platforms, as well as coordinates community outreach and collaboration with partner organizations throughout Portland. Engagement also plans and facilitates our monthly happy hour events, which take place on the third Wednesday of every month.
Mentorship runs the annual PEAL Mentorship program, which you can learn more about here.
Finance is responsible for all financial aspects of PEAL, including bookkeeping, resource and fiscal sponsorship management.
